   Oftentimes I have people ask me to do a painting of themselves, their family, an admired friend, or a most precious pet. I do on occasion accept the request and feel it an honor to be asked . The challenge for me as an artist is to take the enthusiasm, love and compassion someone feels for another whether a family member, pet, or friend and transform into a beautiful painting that will be uplifting and bring joy and happiness to the individual or family for generations to come.

   Most of the time a simple image from a photo is all a person has for
me to begin with, but it's the feeling of love, passion, trust, loyalty and appreciation a person has within themselves for the recipient of the gift that I focus on, and this is what drives me through the image-making process and on to the final vision.

   It pleases me deeply to see the look of surprise on a joyful face, and
to feel the excitement and satisfaction knowing my goal as an artist has been met, and that a priceless gift will be given from one loving heart to another.
